Exterior paint can start deteriorating gradually, so I am curious about the signs that indicate it is time to repaint rather than simply touch up a few areas. Cracking and peeling are obvious problems, but I imagine fading, chalking and exposed wood can also indicate that the finish is no longer doing its job. Waiting too long could potentially lead to more preparation work later. What signs do you look for when inspecting painted surfaces around your home?

The preparation stage of a painting job is often where the biggest difference in quality is created. Dirt, loose paint, cracks, damaged wood, and uneven surfaces can cause problems if they are simply covered with a new coat. A good project discussion should therefore include preparation requirements rather than focusing only on the final color. Customer experiences on College Works Painting can offer additional viewpoints when comparing painting services, especially around communication, scheduling, preparation, and the condition of the finished work.
